When did you start working for College Pro and in what role?
In 2006 as a Franchise Manager at Action Window Cleaners [College Pro Window Cleaning]
 
What were your prior job experiences?
Prior to operating a franchise with Action/College Pro,  I worked as a Sales Associate at Sport Check in Brantford for 5 years. I also worked a few summers for a small Irrigation business.
 
What is the most important lesson you have learned with College Pro?
Planning is everything. It allows you to create balance in your life and achieve your goals.
 
What do you find most rewarding about your current role?
The satisfaction of assisting in a young entrepreneurs growth and development.
 
What is a typical job day like for you?
One thing I really enjoy about my role is that most days are very different. I create my own schedule based on what needs to happen in the business. During recruiting I spend most days on campus meeting with candidates for presentations and interviews. During operations, some days are spent on the phone for GS&R meetings and others are out in the field with my team which is what I really enjoy.
 
What skills are most necessary to succeed in your position?
Leadership is very important as a General Manager to be able to direct young people to hold accountability for their success. Organization is also crucial with the amount of reports that a General Manager is responsible for and the amount of tasks to take care of through the year.
 
Who or what inspires you?
The biggest thing that inspires me on a day to day basis is knowing that I am in complete control of my destiny through my work ethic, and focusing on developing myself through the many great people around me and my own experiences.
 
What advice would you give to someone hoping to work for College Pro?
Focus on your development and get as much coaching as possible.
 
What is your best story related to College Pro? For example, what is your funniest College Pro memory, greatest achievement on the job?
As a franchisee I remember walking away from some estimates thinking “I just met these people 30 minutes ago, and now they’d ask me to babysit their kids for the weekend.” I used to love building relationship with customers and genuinely being able to build trust with people I just met.
 
In your opinion, why is College Pro a great place to work?
It gives you the ability to accelerate your learning at a rate faster than most places for young people. You also make of it what you want and are in control of your results.
